After working a year on a part-time basis, Heather Lewsey was made fulltime as a student mentor in 2008. She will transition to the athletic department in 2009 as the Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Support Services.

In her undergraduate career at Sacred Heart, Lewsey was a member of the Division I women's lacrosse team.

"I know from experience the demands of balancing academics and athletics," she says. "I am excited to help student-athletes succeed in multiple areas."

She will use her strength as a student mentor to focus on working with first-year student-athletes. Besides working in athletics, Lewsey is also an adjunct professor and coaches the club lacrosse team on campus.

Lewsey earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2007 and a Master's of Arts in Teaching in 2008 from Sacred Heart University. She lives with her husband, former SHU baseball star Curtis Lewsey in Shelton CT.
