With the kick-off the 2011-12 season Shaun Ihasz begins his fifth year at Sacred Heart and his third as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications. Ihasz was the Athletic Communication office's first ever Graduate Assistant in the 2008-09 season. He also served as an intern in his first season at Sacred Heart, 2007-08. Ihasz will be the primary contact for football, volleyball, softball, bowling, wrestling and cheerleading.

Ihasz is a 2008 graduate of Sacred Heart University, majoring in sport management and business administration. Faculty members awarded him the gold medal of excellence in sport management during the undergraduate commencement ceremony.

Ihasz was also a four-year member of the Sacred Heart men's bowling team, competing across the country for the Pioneers. He now competes in semi-professional tournaments in the New England area. Ihasz provides color commentary on various SHU broadcasts on the Pioneer Radio Network. He is the oldest of nine children and originally from Long Island he now resides in Fairfield, CT.  In August 2010 Ihasz received his Master's in Business Administration from Sacred Heart's John F. Welch College of Business.
