Lucy Cox became Sacred Heart University's first full-time
Associate Director of Student-Athlete Academic Support Services in
August 2002. She brings six years of prior experience in Career
Counseling at Sacred Heart University to her new position in
Student Athletic Academic Advisement. Cox works as an available and
reliable advisor who understands the lifestyle student-athletes
lead and assists them in balancing their academic, athletic and
personal challenges. In this capacity she also serves as a liaison
with the colleges and directs student-athletes to appropriate
campus-wide resources for academic and personal needs. In
particular, she has strong working relationships with Academic
Advisement, the Registrar's Office, the Career Development Office,
and The Learning Center, along with other key support services
focused on nurturing the success of Sacred Heart University
student-athletes. Prior to her move to higher education, she held
various leadership positions in retail banking, the most recent
being as a Senior Vice-President of USTBank in Bridgeport, and as a
Board Member of BNF, BNHCS and the United Way Co-Chair Campaign
Cabinet. Cox earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Sacred
Heart University with a concentration in Leadership, Business
Administration and American History.
