Ben Batchelder is in his 12th year at Sacred Heart University. Batchelder has been recently promoted to Associate Head Athletic Trainer at Sacred Heart and will be working with the football team and equestrian team. In his first five years at Sacred Heart, he worked with the field hockey, women’s basketball, and wrestling programs.
Batchelder received his undergraduate degree from Northeastern University in May 2005. During his five years at Northeastern, he gained a variety of athletic training experiences working with the football and women's basketball teams among others. He also completed a number of internships within Northeastern's co-operative education program at Metrowest Medical Center, Disney's Wide World of Sports and with the New England Patriots.
Batchelder completed his Master's of Science in Recreation and Sports Sciences at Ohio University in 2006. While at Ohio, he worked as the Head Athletic Trainer at Wellston High School, in Wellston, OH. His research project was recently published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research as the lead author entitled, "Gastrointestinal Temperature Increases and Hypohydration Exists After Collegiate Men’s Ice Hockey Participation.”
He also serves as an Approved Clinical Instructor and an Adjunct Professor for the University's undergraduate athletic training program.
Batchelder is a native of Simsbury, Connecticut and currently resides in Stratford with his wife Ashley.
