FAIRFIELD, Conn. (April 14, 2008) - The Sacred Heart University Dance Team, a fixture at Pioneer football and men's and women's basketball games, took part in the 2008 NCA & NDA Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championship in Daytona Beach, Florida last week and took home a fourth place finish at the event.

The Pioneers, the smallest Division I school in attendance, beat out the likes of Harvard, James Madison, Boston University, Wright State and Columbia en route to their fourth place finish.

Under the direction of Head Coach Deirdre Eller, also took home the Innovative Choreography Award for the division, an honor often given to the winning team.

Over 50 family members and alumni made the trip down to Florida to lend their support for the Pioneers.
