After leaving the sport of gymnastics due to orthopedic injuries, Marissa returned to gymnastics sophomore year of college and competed All Around for SHU Elite until graduation in 2012. For the last 5 years she has coached competitive gymnastics at the Jewish Community Center in Bridgeport CT, in ages ranging from 4-18 and in levels ranging from 4-8. She has also coached all levels intermittently at her home gym in Long Island, NY. She became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist in 2011 and incorporates that into all aspects coaching. After graduating from Sacred Heart with a B.S. in Exercise Science, Marissa continued into the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at SHU and became the head coach of SHU Elite. She has enjoyed watching the team grow and fall in love with the sport of gymnastics and cannot wait to see what the future brings for the team!
