Men's Club Basketball

The Men’s Club Basketball team at Sacred Heart will begin its 8th season as a club in 2016-2017.
The team can place 15 men on the National Club Basketball Association (NCBBA) Roster and will carry an additional 3-5 men on the practice squad.

The team competes in the North Atlantic (East) Region of the NCBBA. The NCBBA is made up of 47 teams and the division is comprised of 6 teams which also include University of Vermont, Harvard University, Clark University, Assumption College and the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. The NCBBA is a new league that has already seen a great deal of growth in teams and talent over the last 3 years.

The team also competes in the NIRSA Region 1 basketball tournament that is held each year at Boston University. The tournament is comprised of 24 men’s teams that will play in pool play on Friday and Saturday with the top two teams qualifying for a single elimination tournament on Sunday. Last year the team made it to the single elimination tournament but was defeated by Harvard University.

The team generally practices 2-3 times per week at the Pitt Center and plays the majority of games on the weekends.
