Adaysha Williams (LaCrosse, Wis.) has been more than adequate while playing the role of point guard in the absence of veteran Ericka Norman. The 5-foot-8 freshman averaged 16.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per contest a two-win week that ended with the Pioneers in sole possession of second place in the NEC standings earning her the honor of Sacred Heart Student-Athlete of the Week. Helping the Pioneers repay Wagner for a loss on Staten Island earlier in the month, Williams tallied 17 points and seven boards in a 63-46 triumph at the Pitt Center. Two days later, she shot 72 percent and scored 16 points as Sacred Heart took down Bryant in what began as a battle of 5-2 NEC teams. No NEC player (with at least 15 FG attempts) shot as well as Williams last week. The Choice Hotels NEC Rookie of the Week shot 65 percent (15-of-23) from the floor.
